Born and raised in New Orleans, Lousiana, Heata Best is the future of New Orleans Hip Hop. Not being afraid to talk about being a regular person living an everyday life just trying to survive is what makes his music so great. Debuting on the New Orleans scene in September of 2010 with a collab mixtape along side TheSekondElement, dropping "MetricalKompostiton," Heata built a quick following. Shortly following that in October of 2010 he release a solo project, "Drop Tha Heat," which to this day is still a fan favorite. It included features from New Orleans artist Lyrikill, A. Levy, Lyriqs Da Lyriciss, and more. "I wanted people's first look at me to be an eye opener. To show I could really rap and I think I accomplished that. Hip hop needs to get back to rap" - Heata Best. Not to long after, Heata was back in the studio working on his next project which came to be known as "Pocket Change." He wanted the project to be completely original, to show his artistic side. This definitely was accomplished. Working with producers and artist such as Prospek, Jon Mercure, Bishop Taylor, E.D.Nix, Lil' DeeGodsGift, and Plane Jane. "Pocket Change" dropped in May and was a trending topic in New Orleans the day of its release, racking up 1200 downloads in 2 weeks. It may be safe to say that Heata Best is on the rise.
